By Christopher Burns, Owner, C&G Holsters. We design and build Kydex holsters in the USA, at our shop outside Pittsburgh, with a team of veterans and law enforcement. Last updated: October 25, 2026.
The Hellcat family is one of the most popular carry lines out there, and Springfield keeps adding to it. That is great for shooters and a little confusing when it is time to buy a holster. The Hellcat, Hellcat PRO and Hellcat RDP look alike, but they do not share a holster. Here is how we match them up.
Short answer: Buy the holster for your exact model. C&G makes separate molds for the Springfield Hellcat, Hellcat PRO and Hellcat RDP. All three come in IWB COVERT/ALPHA, OWB COVERT and the MOD1 appendix sidecar system, and the Hellcat PRO also comes in our TRINITY belt-mounted system.
Start with the Hellcat, Hellcat PRO or Hellcat RDP collection.
Key Takeaways
- The Hellcat, Hellcat PRO and Hellcat RDP each have their own C&G mold. A holster for one is not listed for the others.
- Every model is available in IWB COVERT/ALPHA, OWB COVERT and MOD1 appendix sidecar.
- The Hellcat PRO adds the TRINITY belt-mounted holster system.
- GEN6 holsters are designed for optic clearance; check your optic on the product page.
- Quickship ships within 5 business days; Custom ships within 15.
Hellcat vs Hellcat PRO vs Hellcat RDP: What Changes for the Holster?
Holster fit comes down to the slide length, the muzzle and the frame. The Hellcat is the original micro-compact. The Hellcat PRO is longer in the slide and grip. The Hellcat RDP has a factory compensator at the muzzle that changes the front of the gun. Those differences are why we mold each one separately, and why you should not swap them even if a holster seems to "sort of" go in.

| Hellcat RDP | IWB COVERT/ALPHA | MOD1 appendix sidecar | OWB COVERT |

What Is the Best Appendix Holster for a Hellcat?
If you carry appendix, our MOD1 is the one we reach for. It is a sidecar system: the holster and a spare magazine ride together in one rig, so the gun and reload sit in the same spot every day. It has an integrated concealment wedge, a body-conforming hinge that flexes with you or locks in place, and the ALPHA upgrade (metal belt clips and a Dark Wing) included. The MOD1 is available for the Hellcat, Hellcat PRO and Hellcat RDP.
Want something smaller for appendix? The IWB COVERT/ALPHA also works at appendix with the cant set straight up. We compare the options in our AIWB holster guide and why the MOD1 works as a sidecar.
What Is the Best IWB Holster for a Hellcat PRO?
For strong-side IWB at 3 to 5 o'clock, the Hellcat PRO IWB COVERT/ALPHA is our pick. It is slim, the cant adjusts, and the ALPHA upgrade adds 1.75" metal belt clips and a Dark Wing attachment to pull the grip in. The PRO's longer grip is where most people print, so the wing earns its keep on this gun. Our IWB COVERT vs ALPHA comparison explains when the upgrade is worth it.
Is There an OWB Holster for the Hellcat?
Yes, all three models have an OWB COVERT holster that rides close to the body for range days or carry under a jacket. The Hellcat PRO also fits our TRINITY belt-mounted holster system, which can be set up for different belts and attachments. Read more in our TRINITY overview.
Does the Hellcat RDP Need Its Own Holster?
Yes. The RDP's factory compensator changes the muzzle end of the gun, so we build a dedicated Hellcat RDP mold. Use the Hellcat RDP collection and do not try to run it in a standard Hellcat holster. We introduced these molds in our GEN6 Hellcat series announcement.
Will My Red Dot Fit?
Our GEN6 holsters are designed with optic clearance, including larger optics. Many Hellcat owners run a micro red dot, and that is what these holsters are built around. If you run an unusual optic or mount, check the product page or ask us first. Our optics-ready holster guide covers what to look for.
Is There a Light-Bearing Hellcat Holster?
No. We do not make light-bearing holsters for the Hellcat, Hellcat PRO or Hellcat RDP. If a weapon light is a must for you, our light-bearing holster buyer’s guide covers the pistols we do make light-bearing holsters for.
How Do You Fit-Test a New Holster on Your Hellcat?
Every holster we ship gets seated and drawn on a dedicated test gun for that model before it leaves the shop. Still, run this check at home before you carry:
- Unload the pistol, remove the magazine and lock the slide to confirm it is clear.
- Seat the gun and listen for a clean retention click.
- Make sure the trigger guard is fully covered and nothing presses on the trigger.
- Draw slowly ten times, then at normal speed. Watch for drag or binding.
- Adjust the retention screw in small steps if it feels too tight or too loose.
- If it does not click, binds, or leaves the trigger exposed, do not carry it. Call us.
We walk through what a correct fit looks like in how we fit-test every holster.
QUICKSHIP or CUSTOM: Which Should You Order?
Quickship holsters are built in black and ship within 5 business days. Custom holsters let you pick colors and patterns and ship within 15 business days. Fit, retention and materials are the same either way. If you need it on your belt this month, order Quickship. If you want it to look like yours, go Custom. Our Quickship vs Custom breakdown has the details.
What Gun Belt Should You Run With It?
A good holster on a flimsy belt still sags and prints. Use a stiff, purpose-built gun belt. For sizing, add 4 inches to your pant size; that leaves room for an IWB holster and a shirt tuck. See our gun belts and our guide to the best gun belt for IWB carry.
Still Not Sure Which Hellcat Holster to Get?
Tell us your exact model, barrel length, light, optic and how you carry, and we will point you to the right mold. We would rather answer a question than have you guess. Every C&G holster is built in the USA by veterans and law enforcement and backed by our lifetime warranty. Refunds, if you ever need one, are processed within 10 business days.
