Daniel Defense H9 Holster Guide: IWB & OWB Options
Model-Specific Fit Matters
The Daniel Defense H9 does not share geometry with more common striker-fired pistols. A mold built for another platform will not produce consistent retention or a clean draw on the H9. C&G Holsters uses dedicated CNC-machined molds held to 0.003" tolerance for the H9. Each holster is fit-tested with the corresponding firearm before it ships.
Available Configurations
Current options are limited to the COVERT series:
- IWB COVERT / ALPHA — For concealed carry. The ALPHA upgrade adds 1.75" CNG spring-steel belt clips and a Dark Wing for improved belt stability and grip tuck. View IWB options.
- OWB COVERT — For open carry or range use. Features the Omega retention system, built-in Kickramp, customizable cant, and 1.75" belt loops. View OWB options.
Both styles are available in Quickship (standard black, 5-business-day lead time) and Custom (15-business-day lead time). Confirm optic cut and any other configuration details on the individual product page before ordering. Light-bearing and sidecar systems are not currently listed for the H9.
Practical Considerations
The H9’s dimensions make it more concealment-friendly in an IWB setup than many full-size pistols, but printing still depends on belt stiffness, clothing, and cant. An ALPHA-equipped IWB shell with a rigid gun belt reduces rotation and improves consistency during seated draws or extended wear.
For open carry or range use, the OWB COVERT provides more consistent access and simpler re-holstering. The adjustable Omega retention allows the user to set the level of hold without relying on friction alone.
Because the H9 is less common than platforms such as the Glock 19 or SIG P365, generic or “fits most” holsters are especially unreliable. Model-specific geometry is required for reliable retention and full trigger-guard coverage.
